The Community Law & Mediation Services of Northern California (CLAMS) seeks to improve the overall harmony on the planet by increasing access to justice and lessening the stress of those in conflict.  By offering legal information, pro per or unbundled (limited scope) legal representation and mediation services at a reasonable price, all those involved in conflict will have viable options for resolution of conflict and thus will experience less stress.

The American justice system is largely inaccessible to the vast majority of our population.  Archaic laws and complex court procedure make legal matters unmanageable by all but trained attorneys and other legal professionals.  Exorbitant attorney fees frequently prevent lower income individuals from obtaining legal representation.  While most county’s legal self-help centers are overburdened and cannot meet the full needs of so many unrepresented individuals.

CLAMS is a collaboration of legal professionals working together to assist clients in resolving conflict with compassion and integrity.  CLAMS will provide legal information, in pro per and unbundled or limited scope legal services and mediation at reasonable and sliding scale costs to individuals involved in conflict.  For those who feel full scope representation is their best option, CLAMS will also consider providing this important service.

Mission Statement: CLAMS exists to improve the US justice system & the lives of individuals involved in legal conflict by empowering individuals to understand their conflict and legal options and therefore to resolve conflict with greater integrity.
